Learning at Stivichall is a passport for life

Wellbeing

Promoting physical and mental wellbeing is an important consideration in our approach to all activities at Stivichall. Our pupil Wellbeing Ambassadors are a team made up of pupils from across Key Stage 1 and 2. The Wellbeing Ambassadors have an active and varied role in the school. During break times and lunch times, they provide playground support for any children with friendship concerns, and help children to resolve small disagreements and upsets. Throughout the school year, as events connected to mental wellbeing take place, the Wellbeing Ambassadors play an active role in promoting the events and supporting classes in their delivery of activities connected to the event.

Wellbeing is also supported in the following ways:

  • Availability of a Learning Mentor and Counsellor, with the opportunity for children to self-refer to the Learning Mentor

  • Teaching of mindfulness techniques through Jigsaw lessons

  • Promotion of a growth mindset in learning

  • A range of spaces inside and outside the school for peaceful reflection
