Character Curriculum

The Character Curriculum at Stivichall - Our Vision

At Stivichall Primary School, we aim to promote the personal development of all our pupils through a rich and inclusive Character Curriculum. This is achieved through a wide range of teaching and learning opportunities both within and beyond the classroom. We strive to equip our children with the skills and understanding they need to thrive in modern Britain, encouraging them to become responsible, active citizens who contribute positively to society and show respect for others including those different from themselves. Our school values underpin the learning behaviours and character traits we expect children to demonstrate in all aspects of school life and beyond.

We are reminded that, in the fleeting time we have on this Earth, what matters is not wealth, or status, or power, or fame, but rather how well we have loved and what small part we have played in making the lives of other people better - Barack Obama

The illustration below shows the many aspects of Personal Social Health Education (PSHE), Pupil Leadership, British Values and Wellbeing that are part of our Stivichall Character Curriculum. Information about each of these areas can be found in the sub-menu on this page of the website. Other key parts of school life that also contribute to and promote pupils personal development are marked on the tree in the illustration and include: assemblies, Stivichall Values, the 100 Things Pledge and Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC).
