GREEK DAY - REPORTED BY YASMIN FROM YEAR 5

 

  Greek Day
Meet an Ancient Greek citizen and soldier.
On Tuesday 7th March Year 5 children will have the chance to dress as citizens of Ancient Greece and find out what life was like so long ago.

Roman Day
Meet a Roman soldier
On Thursday 16th. March Year 3 and 3/4T will spend the day as Romans. They will have the chance to find out about the day to day life of a Roman Centurion.

A visit to the Lunt Fort
As part of their work about Ancient Rome the Year 3 and 3/4 T will visit the Lunt Fort on Thursday 30th. March. This will be a chance for the children to see how the Centurions lived in the only reconstructed wooden Roman Fort in Britain today.The Lunt is also home to one of only two gyrus found in the Roman Empire.

The Priory and Herbert Gallery
Year 5 will be visiting the Priory and Herbert Gallery on Wednesday 17th. May as part of their Local History work. The Priory will provide an insight into life as a Monk in medieval Coventry.

Baddesley Clinton
Year 4 will be visiting Baddesley Clinton as part of their Tudor work on Wednesday 14th. June.The house is known as a Hiding House and has 3 Priest Holes. The children will be able to re-enact the raid on the house and discover the hiding places used by the family.

Tamworth Castle
Year 2 will visit Tamworth Castle Thursday 15th. June as part of their work about Castles. This gives the children chance to see a Castle as a fortress and as a home.
